Job Title: Staff Accountant (Heavy AP Focus)

Staff Accountant Job Summary:

Staff Accountant Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable Management:
• ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies for invoice processing
• Review and verify accounts payable transactions to ensure proper coding and approvals.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Manage vendor relationships and resolve any payment-related issues or inquiries.
• General Accounting Support:
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
• Prepare and post journal entries for AP transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.
• Documentation and Compliance:
• Maintain organized records of all accounts payable transactions and supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and industry standards.
• Cash Flow and Bank Reconciliation:
• Assist in tracking and managing cash flow related to AP transactions.
• Reconcile bank statements and assist in the management of cash disbursements.
• Additional Duties as Assigned:
• Support the accounting team with various ad hoc projects as needed, including audits and financial analyses.

Staff Accountant Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or No Degree - equivalent work experience).
• 2+ years of experience in accounting, with a focus on accounts payable.
• Experience in the transportation or logistics industry is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and AP processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite).
