Controller
About the Company and the Controller Position:
This well-established manufacturer in Cleveland is looking for a Controller to lead and manage the company’s financial operations. With a focus on operational excellence, quality, and innovation, the company is committed to providing top-tier products while maintaining strong financial management practices. As the Controller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all financial activities, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and driving business growth.
Responsibilities of the Controller:
- Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes to ensure compliance with GAAP
- Manage financial statement preparation, analysis, and reporting to senior management
- Supervise and mentor accounting team members, providing leadership and guidance
- Ensure the company’s financial processes are efficient, accurate, and aligned with industry standards
- Implement internal controls and manage audits, both internal and external
- Lead the budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop accurate forecasts
- Oversee cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to help guide strategic decision-making
- Assist with special projects and financial analysis as needed
Preferred Qualifications of the Controller:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and budgeting processes
- Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other complex functions
- CPA designation a plus
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is preferred
Salary and Benefits:
- In-office in Cleveland, Ohio
- Pay range: $100,000 to $120,000
