General Ledger Accountant
Smyrna, GA
Salary: $60K- $65K

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Ledger (GL) Accountant to one of our clients in the automotive industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close activities, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. This position involves extensive work with journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and audit preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Book bank transactions and perform bank account reconciliations.
• Prepare, post, and review recurring and manual journal entries in the General Ledger.
• Clear GL accounts and perform associated reconciliations.
• Calculate and post various accruals, including
• Accounts Payable

• Payroll and HR-related
• Revenue recognition
• Claims and bad debts
• Vendor consignments and rebates
• GRNI (Goods Receipt Not Invoiced)
• Agent commissions and customer rebates
• Loan interest and other ad-hoc accruals
• Process and post payroll-related journal entries.
• Handle prepayments and reclassification of Triangle Sales, AP/AR.
• Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Conduct currency and loan revaluations.
• Post system-generated journals and support routine General Ledger maintenance.
• Perform month-end close procedures in line with SLA deadlines.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve outstanding discrepancies.
• Maintain reconciliation documentation per policy and compliance requirements.
• Support legal entity statistical reporting and other GL-related activities.
• Prepare audit documentation and support annual audit processes.
• Participate in quarterly Balance Sheet Reviews and provide data for tax filings.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in General Ledger or full-cycle accounting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with SAP ERP system
• Proficiency in Excel and data analysis.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.
