Collections Specialist

About the Opportunity

Join our client, a leading national services organization, as a Collections Specialist. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing outstanding accounts, negotiating payment solutions, and ensuring timely debt resolution while maintaining positive customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead collection activities for your assigned region to prevent aging of current balances
• Make confident outbound collection calls and handle incoming inquiries in a metrics-driven environment
• Negotiate payment arrangements and settlement offers with customers
• Process payments and resolve account discrepancies and short payments
• Collaborate with the Billing team on credit adjustments
• Monitor payment allocations and identify unallocated payments
• Provide exceptional customer service regarding collection issues

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting or equivalent work experience
• Prior collections experience preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Competitive attitude with resilience in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
